With the New England Forest Rally now in the record books, it’s time to take a closer look at the 2018 Muscatell Ojibwe Forests Rally and what the fifth round of the seven event 2018 American Rally Association (ARA) National Championship Series means for the developing Regional championship battles.

Taking place on August 24 – 25, 2018 in the 10,000 Lakes Region of Northwestern Minnesota, the Muscatell Ojibwe Forests Rally traverses beautifully wooded areas and winds its way around and across dozens of lakes over its length. The two day competition, a mix of high-speed and technical stage roads, has been a driver favorite for many years. This year’s rally will consist of 250 total miles with 132 miles, nearly 53{35d58eeb8b49444ad810a23b95fe22fb037ffcdad0061d8ef06091e66aa30395}, being competitive stage miles. That means extra time in the forest.

“In speaking with our competitors following last year’s rally, they asked for more time in the forest, kind of back-to-basics format,” said Event Chairman Jonathan Atkins. “So, we listened to them and that’s what they’ll see this year.”

With four of seven rally events of the ARA National Championship Series having been run and two out of three Eastern Regional events completed, the ARA East Division Championship hardware is still up for grabs. The Eastern Division sees competition at ARA events east of the Rocky Mountains; which include the Susquehannock Trails Performance Rally (STPR), the New England Forest Rally (NEFR), and the Muscatell Ojibwe Forests Rally. With two of these events run, Ojibwe marks the final opportunity for competitors to earn ARA Eastern Division points in ARA 2018 Regional Championship Series.

The Muscatell Ojibwe Forests Rally, the final rally in the ARA East Regional Championship, sees all five Eastern Regional Class championships up for grabs, with a four-way tie in the series top class, Open 4 Wheel Drive (O4WD), and tight battles for both driver and co-driver championship leads in each of the series remaining four classes – Normally Aspirated 4 Wheel Drive (NA4WD), Limited 4 Wheel drive (L4WD), Open 2 Wheel Drive (O2WD) and Limited 2 Wheel Drive (L2WD).

The competition is at its peak, and the opportunity to dive into the heat of the regional championship battles is still open. Don’t miss out, early registration ends on Tuesday July 31, at 11:59 PM. Head to ojibweforestsrally.com/competitors-2018 to register today.
