Speedway, IN (April 10, 2018)

Officials with the American Rally Association (ARA) announced today that Cooper Tires has joined their 2018 Contingency Sponsorship Program in support of both Regional and National Rally Teams competing in the ARA National Championship Series in 2018.

The 2018 Cooper Tire Contingency Program will be available to all ARA Regional and National Rally Teams starting with the Oregon Trail Rally scheduled for April 20-22, 2018. Competitors must register in advance of their first 2018 ARA Regional or National Rally of the year and agree to run Cooper M+S Gravel Rally tires on all four wheels of their rally cars. The program will recognize first, second and third place finishers in all five classes of ARA National and Regional competitors at all seven ARA National Rally events in 2018.

“We’re pleased to welcome Cooper Tires and their M+S Gravel Rally Tire to the American Rally Association’s 2018 Contingency Program,” said Paul Giblin, ARA National Brand Manager. “It’s no secret that the Cooper brand has an extensive record of success both on and off road around the world. To have Cooper Tires join ARA’s 2018 Contingency Program is a tremendous opportunity for our rally teams as well as the sport of Stage Rally in the United States.”

Any team competing in vehicles with Cooper M+S Gravel Rally tires on their rally car, along with proof of purchase from an authorized Cooper Tire dealer and Cooper Tire decals properly installed on their rally car, is eligible to register for the Cooper Tire Contingency Program.

Cooper Tires will award prizes based on finishing results in class – first in class will receive a full set of four Cooper M+S Gravel Rally tires, second in class will receive two tires and third place will receive one tire. National and Regional classes must have a combined minimum of five entries per class to qualify for participation in the 2018 Cooper Tire Contingency Program. Registered teams who fail to complete a rally (DNF) and Cooper sponsored teams are not eligible for prizes. If an ARA National Rally event weekend hosts multiple Regional Rally events, the overall results from each Regional Rally run that weekend will be combined with the National Rally results to determine placement for 2018 Cooper Tire Contingency Program prizes.

“Cooper Tire is excited to be supporting Teams competing at both Regional and National Rally Events in the ARA National Championship Series with a 2018 Contingency Sponsorship Program,” stated Meg Snyder, rally program manager. “Cooper has a very successful global racing history in Rally and looks to extend that reach into the US rally racing circuit with the American Rally Association.”
